School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:
- school orientation days
- sports carnivals
- open day and school tours
- Harmony Week and Book Week events
- NAIDOC Week
- excursions and incursions
- performances, concerts or school productions

Public Education Week
Date: Normally early in August
Time: 9.30am
Public Education Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week, including a dress up day parade.
Open day
Date: Regularly on the same day as our dress up parade
Time: after the dress up parade
School open day is an opportunity for students, parents and carers to get to know our school.
P&C meeting
Date: Wednesdays - Week 3 & 7 of term
Time: 5.30 - 6.30pm
Join our vibrant P&C. Meetings are held week 3 and 7 of every term in the school library. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
Father's Day BBQ Breakfast
Date: Normally Friday before Father's Day
Time: From 8.15am
Each year we invite the fathers of a students to come and join in a celebration with their children at school.
School Assemblies
Date: Even weeks on Fridays
Time: 1.55pm
School assemblies are a time for classes to perform an item or present work done during the term. Awards are also presented to students who have been working well, in the classroom and on the playground.
School Show - Under The Bowen Big Top
Date: Wednesy 17th September
Time: 10am & 6pm
The circus is coming to town, and they're chosen to camp at Bowen!
