The importance of wellbeing

'The concept of wellbeing and its close links with learning are not new. A wealth of evidence is available to inform educators of this important relationship in the work they do every day with students, from preschool students beginning their education journey to senior students preparing for further education, employment and adult life' - Wellbeing for schools - NSW Department of Education.

We aim to make our school a safe, caring place where all students can achieve academic, sporting, social and civic success through the co-operation and effort of students, parents and staff.

Bowen Public School recognises that student welfare encompasses everything the school community does to meet the personal, social, physical and academic needs of all of those who work at our school.

As a community, we see our students as the primary focus of school life.

We believe the management of student welfare sits primarily with the classroom teacher of your child and operates within a transparent system for classes to manage behaviour and access executive support.
